Verse 1 I stood in the ash of my own house in the clothes that the fire had left and the one who knows my name the best stood close at my right hand. He had a list and the list was true. He did not have to lie. Every word he laid against me was a word I could not deny.

Verse 2 Then a voice above the accuser said Is this not a brand from the fire And nobody argued the burning Nobody argued the smoke. They took the filthy garments off me While I stood there in the cold And they set the fair mitre on my head Before I was anything but old.
